Nevada PEP supports children with disabilities and their families by providing information and services to parents to ensure their children receive adequate care. One of the organization's issues of focus is bullying, which affects thousands of children with disabilities in the United States and prevents many of them from going to school or feeling safe while in attendance.
Coinciding with National Bullying Awareness Month, Nevada PEP plans to raise awareness about the dangers of bullying this October by installing its disability-bullying- prevention programs in local schools. In each school, bullying-prevention bulletin boards, pledge bookmarks, and school-wide announcements will suggest ways for students to stand up to bullying and encourage them to help abolish bully behavior from their school culture. The program aims to reduce individual incidents of bullying and create a climate where students feel safe to learn. Nevada PEP requires additional funding to help cover the transportation, production, and material costs of running the disability-bullying-prevention program in schools.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help reduce the bullying of children with disabilities in schools. If G-Team members raise $400, then Nevada PEP can establish its disability-bullying-prevention program in one local school. Each additional $400 raised will fund a bullying-prevention program at another school.
