What You'll Get
According to data compiled by Voices for Illinois Children, 31 percent of Chicago children live below the poverty line. Many families, in order to meet kids' most basic needs such as food and clothing, must forgo purchasing warm coats for children. Operation Warm manufactures and distributes new winter coats for children from low-income families to prevent suffering in cold climates.
Since its inception in 1998, Operation Warm has provided winter coats for 775,000 children, and aims to reach its millionth child by the end of its current distribution season. Partnering with the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA), Operation Warm will distribute coats to up to 10,000 children living in public CHA and Housing Choice Voucher households at an upcoming service fair in late October, where families can connect with a number of vital social services. It costs $20 to provide a coat to one child, and the organization requires additional funding in order to meet its 10,000-coat goal.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help provide winter coats for children from low-income families. If G-Team members raise $400, then Operation Warm can distribute winter coats to 40 Chicago-area children ages 3–11 who live in public housing, with all donations matched by JPMorgan Chase & Co. Each additional $10 donation, in combination with the donation match, will purchase a coat for another child.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100 percent off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.

About Operation Warm
Founded in 1998, Operation Warm distributes winter coats to children across America, protecting their health and safety as well as buoying their spirits. "Our motto is 'more than a coat,' and I like to say we bring happiness and warmth to children through a new winter coat," executive director Rich Lalley says. "When they get a brand-new winter coat all their own ... they feel better about themselves, and when they feel better about themselves, children perform better in school."
Operation Warm distributes hundreds of thousands of new coats around the country each year. The organization's coats are brightly colored and have extra-deep pockets and detachable hoods, and they come in sizes 3T to adult large.
