Parents with seriously ill children often need to travel far from home in order to obtain the best medical care for their children, and extended stays away from home can add further emotional and financial strain to an already stressful time. Houston’s Ronald McDonald House provides accommodations and support services to the families of young patients at its 50-room Holcombe House, located at the Texas Medical Center, where families stay anywhere from a few days to several months as their children receive medical treatments or await organ transplants.
At the Holcombe House, each guest room includes two queen-size beds and one full bath, plus guests can access free laundry facilities, WiFi, and fully stocked kitchens. The approximate cost of housing a family at Holcombe House is $142 per night, and Holcombe House relies on private donations to cover accommodation costs. Families are asked to donate $25 each night, but no one is ever turned away for an inability to pay.
Join G-Team and donate $10 or $25 to help provide temporary housing for families with children receiving treatment for a critical illness at Texas Medical Center. If G-Team members raise $400, then Houston's Ronald McDonald House can fund one-night guest stays at Holcombe House for at least eight families with seriously ill children. Each additional $25 raised will cover the costs of an overnight stay for another family.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
