A pet can provide much-needed companionship for homebound seniors, but keeping the animals healthy and fed can be difficult for older pet owners struggling with their own health or financial challenges. As part of The Real Charitable Housewives of Orlando's efforts to support the work of groups strengthening the Orlando community, the organization has partnered with the SPCA of Central Florida to raise funds for SPCA's Pet Food Xpress program.
Pet Food Xpress volunteers deliver SPCA-packaged pet food to eligible seniors in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties once a month. During deliveries, a volunteer chats with the elderly pet owner and checks on the animal to ensure that its health needs—including annual vaccinations and other medical concerns—are being met. Volunteers keep an eye out to make sure that the pet's owners are staying healthy, too. There are currently more than 200 seniors and 225 pets in the Pet Food Xpress program.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help the Real Charitable Housewives of Orlando raise funds for SPCA's Pet Food Xpress program. If G-Team members raise $300, then the Real Charitable Housewives can purchase 20 bags of pet food for volunteers to deliver to pets of senior citizens. Each additional $30 raised will be used to buy two more bags of pet food.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
