For individuals with disabilities, visual arts can be a powerful outlet for creative expression and help boost self-confidence. VSA Wisconsin hosts studio-art classes, workshops, and other creative opportunities for children and adults with disabilities throughout Wisconsin.
Through VSA’s Open Doors Studio program, adults with disabilities who are interested in visual arts learn to manipulate two-dimensional media in studio classes. On average, classes include about 12 students, and focus on creative development and self-expression. After the 10-week program, participants can present selected artwork at VSA’s annual public exhibition.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help people with disabilities develop artistic skills and self-confidence. If G-Team members raise $360, then VSA Wisconsin can provide visual-art supplies for a session of the Open Doors Studio program with 12 students, including four pints of acrylic paint, four 11"x14" pre-stretched canvases, three sets of artist-quality watercolors, and enough raw canvas to stretch 16 painting canvases for each student. Each additional $30 raised will supply one 10-week session of art supplies for another student.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
