Los Tacos by Chef Omar
Grab a fork and knife before you order the signature wet burrito at Los Tacos by Chef Omar. Filled with ground beef, rice, and beans, the burrito arrives covered with a creamy three-cheese sauce, demanding that diners use utensils to eat it instead of their hands or two expensive baseball cards.
The wet burrito is one of many of Chef Omar Covarrubias's creations on the menu, including shrimp habanero enchiladas and, of course, the house guacamole. Each dish is the result of careful research—begun in Chef Omar's childhood—into the traditions of Mexico's many regions. His scholarship has paid off in various honors: the chef has cooked for the Mexican president, and won the national award for Latino Chef of the Year at the Flavors of Passion Awards in 2011. Chef Omar has also received raves from SouthFlorida.com as well as New Times Broward-Palm Beach.
