You know Billy Gibbons as one of the bearded members of ZZ Top, who earned hits with their classic songs "Legs" and "Sharp Dressed Man." But you may not know that before Gibbons was rocking out with ZZ Top he studied Latin jazz under "Mambo King" Tito Puente. Those lessons from Puente, along with collaborations with some of the industry's best Afro-Cuban, Latin and hip-hop artists, inspired Gibbon's debut solo album Perfectamundo, released in October. Now you can hear these new tracks, including a "Spanglish" version of Slim Harpo's classic "I Got Love If You Want It" and a rhythmic take on the Lightnin' Hopkins blues song "Baby, Please Don't Go," when Gibbons and his band The BFG's perform in DC at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium.
