Qasida is an extraordinary border-transcending musical collaboration between Latin Grammy-nominated Sevillian cantaora (flamenco singer) Rosario "La Tremendita" Guerrero and rising Iranian classical music star Mohammad Motamedi. As part of the Flamenco Festival at D.C.'s Lisner Auditorium, they come together to explore the roots of flamenco through the rich, poetic songs and improvisations of vocalist and ney player Motamedi. The duo will merge songs of Spanish folk poetry and Persian high art into a musical creation that revives the "Al-Andalus" of old.
