Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Is the play package good for both of our children or does it only admit one?

Linda P.  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

It's good for one child. A sibling can be enrolled at a discounted price - for most classes $43 for the same month of privileges. They could be in separate classes or in a class together depending on their ages. An infant in a car seat or front pack would be a free tag-a-long. Thanks for the good question. Mark

Q:

Are there any specific activities within the open gym time ?

Candy F.  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

Open Gym is our unstructured free-play time. It meets in our large play center which is filled with slides, climbers, tunnels and bouncers. It's a great chance for kids to burn off some energy and also for kids and parents to socialize. Unlike our classes, it is not lead by a teacher.

Q:

Can you expand on the sibling rate? I have a 4 and 5 year old that I would love to get 2 for, but I guess I can only buy one. How much would it be to get the second sibling in for the classes/open gym as well?

David A.  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

Unfortunately, our program goes through the age of four only. For those that have two children age four and under, the second child rates are as follows: $43 per month for 45-minute classes, $53 per month for hour-long parent participation art classes and $56 per month for hour-long drop-off preschool classes (3 and 4-year-olds). All include a month of classes, a month of unlimited Open Gym and flexible make-up classes during the month.

Q:

Do parents participate in the classes? Do parents monitor their child during free time for safety?

Susan L.  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

Except for our drop-off preschool classes for 3 and 4-year-olds, parents or caregivers are very involved in the class, encouraging their children and providing safety with spotting. Gymboree is a wonderful bonding experience for parent and child. We encourage caregivers to be "within a hugs distance" of their child during class and during Open Gym, the unstructured free-play time.

Q:

My grandson, age 4, is trying to learn to socialize without pushing others. He can do that in small groups with supervision. Would he be welcome at your facility? Do parents stay in the open play room?

Marie G.  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

He would certainly be welcome! His caregiver would be his primary supervisor and he would be in the company of other children and adults. I would suggest starting with Family Gymboree Play and Learn, Family Music or Family Art where parents or other caregivers participate. Learning to socialize is one of the main reason that families join Gymboree. Caregivers stay and participate during Open Gym as well.

Q:

I have 3 children I would to get one as only one can be purchase by groupon ...do my other 2 children get a better discount than $43 . They are all the same age.

Maria  asked on  Mar 20, 2013

A:

Typically multiple children and or multiple classes are all at the same discounted rate but if you will call me so we can talk about it I think I can propose a better price since you would have three children all the same age. Mark Hanscom, Owner, 503 670-1683.

Q:

If I buy a the package and receive one as a gift, may I use both on consecutive months?

Carolyn L.  asked on  Mar 19, 2013

A:

No, sorry. It's one Groupon per family. The Groupon does cover the lifetime enrollment fee however, so when you register to continue beyond the first month, you won't have to pay that, only the monthly tuition, which is $64 for most classes and includes unlimited visits to Open Gym.

Q:

If we wanted to start in April, but we would have to miss the first week, can he make up the class on another day?

Annie F.  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

First of all, your month can begin on any day you choose. If you begin on March 25th your month will end around April 25th. No matter when you start, you get a full month. Make-up classes are very flexible. You can attend on another day, at your convenience, but you must attend all of your classes before your month ends.
