Q:

I only have one toe that needs treatment. What would that cost? Is it guaranteed to work?

Timothy G.  asked on  Jun 29, 2013

A:

It is the same price because the protocol is to treat all 10 toes. It can be microscopic on the other toes. It is easy and likely to be spread to the other toes while filing or clipping them. I can't guarantee it , just because there are so many variables. I do try to go above and beyond in caring for my clients.

Q:

If a second treatment is necessary, how soon would you know that?

Linda H.  asked on  Jun 29, 2013

A:

It is recommended to do treatments at 6 week intervals. Usually after one treatment, in a few weeks you will see clear, healthy nail down by the cuticle. Some people get so excited they decide to do another treatment after 6 weeks just to make sure we killed the fungus. Others just wait for the nail to grow out, which takes between 9 and 12 months.

Q:

About what percentage of your patients need more than one treatment?

Gretchen C.  asked on  Jun 26, 2013

A:

This is a difficult question, only because I don't always hear from everyone. I can tell you that 90% that I do see again are very happy because after one treatment they see a difference. Sometimes they are so excited that they do a 2nd treatment just to make sure they kill the fungus. The company that manufactured the laser (Aerolase) claims a 90% cure rate, but I'm guessing a lot of those people did have more than one treatment. If the fungus does not involve the whole nail there is a good chance you would only need one treatment. I hope that answers your question.

Q:

My toes are all really bad if two aditional treatments are needed what would be my cost. per each treatment

James G.  asked on  Jun 25, 2013

A:

It would be $200 per treatment for any additional treatments. I will give you a list of instructions for home that will also help get rid of the fungus.

A:

I assume that if additional treatments are needed $200 covers both feet?

Q:

Since this is FDA approved, do you know if med insurance will also cover this?

Cheryl S.  asked on  Jun 24, 2013

A:

Hi Cheryl, unfortunately insurance companies consider this a cosmetic issue and they do not cover it. I have been getting great results with the laser though, so I think it's well worth it!!
