What You'll Get
If it weren't for the archival nature of ceramics, we'd have little insight into the rainy-day activities of ancient Greeks. Make your own lasting, creative mark with today's Groupon. For $15, you get $35 toward pottery painting, glass fusing, mosaic making, and more at Half Baked Pottery and Gifts. The Broad Ripple Avenue studio welcomes all ages and experience levels.
Half Baked Pottery and Gifts' cheerful studio is a great place to get friends together for a small ceramics gathering, ceramics rave, or first ceramics date rave. For basic pottery painting, select any mug, vase, cookie jar, piggy bank, fertility goddess, or other artifact from Half Baked's collection of more than 200 paint-ready ceramics. Next, come up with a design, sketch it out with pencil, and select your glaze colors. If you don't know how to paint, or only know how to paint the Venus of Urbino on a divan made of butter, the friendly staff will let you flip through idea books, images, and stencils to find some direction. After you've painted your pottery, the professionals at Half Baked Pottery and Gifts will apply a clear overglaze and finalize your piece in a kiln. Fired pieces will be ready for pickup one week after your studio visit. This Groupon may also be used toward glass fusing, mosaic making, or special events. Check the studio's calendar to learn more about weekly happenings.
For pottery painting, studio time costs $6 for children (12 years or younger) and $8 for adults, and pottery pieces range from $4 to $65. Glass-fusing prices are all-inclusive, ranging from $12 to $50, and mosaic prices start at $13. Schedule your visit to Half Baked Pottery and Gifts in advance, or just drop in on a creative whim. Kids love learning crafts, so get multiple Groupons and make it a family affair—or let loose with paint-slinging thrills on a girls’ night out or all-ages bachelor party.
