Too bad this person had a difficult time. Service has been exceptional every time I have been there, food has been great. I’ve been with groups and parties of two. I had two groupons for the group. He was going to take them but then realized they were both in my name and therein was the problem for us. We will just use the second one next time. It’s not crowded but always a few tables and quite a bit of take out. Farren

Firstly, I bough this groupon at the beginning of Covid. I didn't realize that you had to dine in to redeem it. When I contacted them and asked if they would make an exception due to the recommendation that we did not eat at restaurants, and then after because we weren't allowed to, they refused. Irritated, I hung up the phone and decided to just wait until the groupon expired. My girlfriend also had a groupon and she let hers expire as well. Well my experience didn't get any better. We both went in place an order. He combined our orders and said he would only use one of the EXPIRED groupons because you can't use two at once. I said that's fine, we will order separately. But because we were there together, he insisted that if we wanted to use both, we had to dine in and could only use one as it was in the fine print that the groupon was dine in for two and you couldn't combine groupons. That would be a legitimate argument if we were actually using the groupon. But we weren't. It was expired! Since we are no longer getting the discount, they are no longer honoring the groupon, therefore we are no longer subjected to the terms of the groupon. We just get to use the amount we paid for them! This isn't a loss to the restaurant. They already took our money. Expired groupons are treated like cash. We were two separate people and if we want to ring up our orders separately and use our expired groupons, that is 100% allowed. I've had groupons expire several times. It is never a problem. In fact, most places go above and beyond and just honor them anyway. I wasn't asking for that. I just wanted my $15 applied to my bill. My girlfriend wanted her $15 applied to her bill. Separately. As two different people placing two separate orders. He was incredibly disrespectful and couldn't even come up with a reason as to why he was refusing it. He just kept saying no. Saying it was impossible and that I was wrong, but not replying to the logic I was providing him. Is this because I'm female? I feel like it was. My griflrend felt like it was. So at this point I'm angry. I usually really try to be kind to people who handle my food. Partly because it's the nice thing to do, but also because I don't want my food spit in... lets be honest. We went back and forth arguing. Or rather me posing my argument and him just saying "no." It wasn't until I said that I paid $15 and if he didn't either apply it to my bill or refund me, he was steeling money from both of us. I said I wasn't going to let this go and I'd be very happy to involve a third party in the matter. This isn't about the $15 each. It's the principle. Then he VERY reluctantly backed down. We argued for 10 minutes about this. In front of his staff. Not in front of any customers... because NOBODY WANTS TO EAT THERE!!!! I honestly don't know how they stay in business. It's always dead. He finally agreed. He rang us up... together (which he said was "impossible" but clearly he would have said anything to keep our money) and deducted our pre-paid amounts. He then walked back toward the kitchen and threw our order at the cook. Awesome guy. Never again. Honestly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We will never know if he tampered with our meal, but I wouldn't have put it past him. I'm still alive, so that's something. :) The food was fine. But not great. And definitely not worth dealing with somebody like him. I highly HIGHLY discourage anybody from coming here or buying this groupon. In fact, they shouldn't be allowed to have groupons since they don't follow the rules. There are plenty of other Indian Food places that are good that have excellent service.

About Handi Cuisine of India

It pays to plan a visit to Handi Cuisine of India a day ahead of time. If you do, you can order the Tandoori Raan, a whole leg of lamb marinated for 24 hours in yogurt, ginger, and other Indian spices. It's grilled in a traditional clay oven, or tandoor, and served on a majestic platter befitting an entire lamb leg.

The eatery serves lower-commitment dishes, too, of course. Their culinary team especially loves East Indian cuisine, but diners can still find all the Indian restaurant staples they know and love. Palak paneer, for instance, or coconut-based prawn Goa curry from India's smallest state, save for Shahrukh Khan, a state unto himself.
