Toxins commonly known to plague the human body include notes of terrible music, an ex's lingering pheromones, and nano-gremlins bent on breaking down the body's defenses. Eschew these and more with today’s Groupon: for $30, you get an infrared sauna treatment and ionic foot bath (a $65 value) at Hands on Healing in the Pacific Complementary Medicine Center. Groupon holders will also receive a 20% discount on any massage service.
Hands on Healing's experienced detox mavens use alternative medicine to achieve the grand aims of rejuvenation and whole body wellness. Both the infrared sauna and the ionic foot bath aim to rid the body of incidental toxins accumulated by living in a world outside the pristine dinosaur-laden forests of Pangaea. Infrared saunas, unlike traditional saunas, use dry infrared rays during each 30-minute sessions to heat the body via shallow penetration of the skin. As the body warms and relaxes in the cozy atmosphere, the magic of metabolic processes create sweat, dispelling water-borne impurities and toxins from the body’s interior. During the 30-minute ionic foot bath, newly-heated patrons soak their lowest digits in a bath containing low-current electrodes and saline solution. A mild, barely-perceptible electrical current runs through the solution for half an hour, aiming to draw impurities out from the feet. Free of toxins, clients may skip out of the studio without being bogged down to enjoy body processes they know and love, such as feeling active and awake, digesting food swiftly and efficiently, and astral projecting away from humdrum corporate meetings.
Lorrie or Savannah at Hands on Healing
As part of the all-female team at Hands on Healing, Savannah is a licensed aesthetician passionate about both skincare and waxing. She performs basic and signature facials, as well as advanced treatments such as an O2 lift treatment that refreshes skin with oxygen and plant-derived stem cells. Lorrie, too, is an aesthetician, but also a certified massage therapist and reiki practitioner who administers Hands On's signature wellness massages that can integrate up to seven modalities in a single session. She also specializes in prenatal massage, putting expectant mothers at ease almost as much as a baby who just gets emailed out of the womb.
