About Happy Tales Animal Sanctuary
Nicole Chillemi, a veterinary technologist, and Russell Lipensky, a bodyworker and healer, comprise the team behind Happy Tales Animal Sanctuary. This duo’s passion for animals led them to open the sanctuary, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is conservation, preservation, and education, all on a shoestring budget. When the resident hedgehogs, pythons, and parrots have recovered, they can either return to the wild or make a permanent home at the sanctuary. There, they meet visitors on private tours and interact with special-needs children during theraplay sessions.
