Dining etiquette requires one to use a soupspoon for gazpacho, a dessertspoon for crème brûlée, and chopsticks for fitting in when dining with walrus. Show off utensil mastery with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of gourmet regional fare for dinner at Harbour City Bar & Grill, located in the Delta Halifax Hotel adjacent to the Halifax Metro Center. Parking at the Scotia Square parkade is free for up to two hours during dinner hours when dining at Harbour City.

At Harbour City Bar & Grill, chef Les Stevens crafts a menu of artful fare prepared with fresh, locally sourced produce, meats, and fish. Diners can discuss the finer points of the art of plating while chewing on mouthfuls of lamb lollipops roasted at the speed of sloth and served with a mint slaw, tarragon, and lemon sauce ($13) or choose to seize the day with the chef’s seasonal soup de jour ($6). Enticing appetizers also include fresh, butter-poached Nova Scotian lobster ($15) and pan-roasted shrimp and Digby scallops ($13). Fifteen elegant entrees such as the Atlantic choice-beef tenderloin ($30), Nova Scotian halibut ($28), and ravioli puffed up with goat cheese and spring vegetable cream ($21) compete to be cast as the meal’s headlining act while secretly hoping for a spin-off show on Food Network.

To complement the exquisite dishes, Harbour City Bar & Grill also offers a sudsy collection of local craft beers and fine list of Nova Scotian wines. Chef Stevens and his culinary crusaders, like karaoke night regulars, are always open to requests should the diner not find just what they’re looking for on the menu.
