We had the hamburger steaks, and I would like more of the carmelized onions and squashes, and less of the coleslaw. Would also like to have the Texas toast toasted on both sides. But I ate all of the food. Thank you.

  • For $6, you get a cheeseburger dinner for two (a $12.50 value) that includes the following:
    • Two quarter-pound cheeseburgers (a $6.50 value)
    • Two small french fries (a $3 value)
    • Two small drinks (a $3 value)

  • For $9, you get a hamburger-steak dinner for two (an $18 value) that includes the following:
    • Two 8-ounce hamburger steaks and sides (a $15 value)
    • Two small drinks (a $3 value)

Since 1939, Harden's Hamburgers has whittled old-fashioned cheeseburgers out of toasted buns, traditional toppings, and quality beef. To prepare a duo of dinners, cooks drape two quarter-pound burger patties in blankets of cheese and slice up the onions with a razor blade before positioning them between two lightly greased buns slathered in mustard and pickles. Meanwhile, curly fries fry into crisp coils in a vat of vegetable oil, getting ready to spring-launch cups of soda into pairs of parched throats.

Grill wizards also conjure flames when searing succulent hamburger steaks, which they serve sans bun alongside bowls of baked beans or coleslaw and mounds of piping hot french fries. Harden's is open Monday–Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the doors to the burger bank closed on Sundays to give patties time to practice stacking techniques.

About Harden's Hamburgers

Johney Harden first offered a taste of his old-fashioned hamburgers and meaty homemade chili in 1939 with a burger joint called Johney's Jip Joint. Although the Jip Joint has changed names, and even changed hands in 1988, Harden's Hamburgers still serves up their original burgers to a loyal fan base. Their small but meaty menu continues to conquer hunger with Johney's original chili recipe, and remains true to such time-honored classics as root-beer floats and thick shakes that help wash down hearty hamburger steaks and pintsize kids' meals. Harden's also offers catering services, serving up hot, mobile meals of hickory-smoked barbecue fare and fried chicken. They will even cook their original burgers on-site with all the fixings on the fiery breath of Johney's pet dragon.
