Conductor Jane Glover takes the acclaimed Music of the Baroque orchestra through an entire lyrical day with Haydn's short Symphonies Nos. 6, 7 and 8, otherwise known as Le Matin (The Morning), Le Midi (Noon) and Le Soir (The Evening). These early works of the composer, who wrote more than 100 symphonies, were penned in 1761, and are famed for their inclusion of solos for instruments across the orchestral spectrum. This concert at Chicago's Harris Theater wraps up, appropriately enough, with Mozart's peaceful nighttime piece, Serenata Notturna.
