Q:

Hello, I noticed that you don't recommend this trip for children under 13 as it is physically demanding (and may surpass their attention span). I'm wondering if it's possible to bring a 3 year-old and have them sit in the middle of a double kayak? Many thanks.

Q:

If I purchased "one tour-hour tour for two" does that mean we have to use a 2 person kayak or can we each use a single kayak?

Allana A.  asked on  Jun 2, 2013

A:

Hi Allana, It simply means that you have purchased a Groupon for two people to go kayaking. You can choose to paddle in single kayaks, or we do have tandems available if you would prefer that. Tamara - Harrison Eco Tours

Q:

One of our potential group of 4 has a very bad shoulder. I was wondering if it would work if she was in a double kayak with her very strong husband. Would you think a man could paddle a double well enough to keep up?

Laura R.  asked on  May 31, 2013

A:

Hi Laura, We don't recommend the trip for anyone with existing shoulder, back or neck problems, or other injuries, as paddling does require using your upper body quite extensively. Our biggest concern in this case would be for your friend and her husband's safety. Even if her husband were able to keep up paddling for the both of them, if for any reason their kayak capsized it may be incredibly difficult or even impossible for your friend to get out of the water and back into the kayak. If any other emergency situation arose, we would not want to endanger her, her husband, our other guests or our guide. We would love to have you come out paddling with us, but it would be best to wait until your friend's shoulder is in better shape. Tamara, Harrison Eco Tours

Q:

What dates are available? And times? Any black out dates?

BRENDA W.  asked on  May 31, 2013

A:

Hi Brenda, There are no black out dates for the Groupon. We are currently offering tours on weekends and holidays during June; Thursdays through Mondays for July and August; and back to weekends and holidays for September. Trips typically depart at 9am and 12pm, though we may add additional departure times as needed. If you have a larger group (4 or more), please give us a call as we may be able to arrange for a different date/time (provided one of our guides is available) for your tour. Thank you! Q:

I have 2 kids, 7 and 10. Wondering if a 2 hour kayak would be appropriate for them? It would be there first time. Kids rate?

Maria R.  asked on  May 31, 2013

A:

Hi Maria, We typically do not recommend the trip for children under 13 years of age, as it is 2 hours of physical activity in a group setting. If you have got another adult coming along, we could potentially have you each take a child with you in a double kayak. If this is a possibility, I would encourage you to give us a phone call so that we can discuss it further. Thank you! Tamara Harrison Eco Tours/BC Sportfishing Group
