Hawaii Glass Bottom Boat Adventures
The Haleiwa Queen, a 50-foot power catamaran, was made for exploration. When drifting in the vibrant waters off the coast of Oahu, it floats past shipwrecks, sea turtles, and coral reefs, all of which are stunningly visible through a glass port in its floor. Tours aboard the Queen venture out both during the day and at sunset. On the way out, schools of tropical fish and dolphins might make appearances, and on the way back, passengers get picturesque views of downtown Honolulu and Waikiki. The sunset tours are especially jaw-dropping, combining the colorful pre-dusk sky with the views of the ocean floor, which is illuminated by the boat's underwater lights.
All this is possible because The Haleiwa Queen’s captains, friends Kenny Cole and Leif Robinson, have practically spent their lives in the ocean. Kenny started on research vessels in the Gulf with his oceanographer father and Leif began fishing off Oahu’s North Shore as a child. They both lead these 90-minute catamaran tours, sharing their collected extensive knowledge of the nearby living reefs and wildlife.
