What You'll Get
In golf it's ideal for the ball to land in the fairway, as opposed to the fairy way, where it explodes in a cloud of Pixy Stix powder. Prevent confectionary combustion with today's Groupon to Hawk's Tail of Greenfield. Choose between the following options:
• For $33, you get 18 holes of golf for two with a cart Monday–Friday (up to a $66 value).
• For $40, you get 18 holes of golf for two with a cart on Saturday or Sunday after 12 p.m. (up to an $80 value).
Playing more than 6,700 yards from the back tees, the par 72 course at Hawk's Tail of Greenfield challenges golfers with sand traps and serpentine creeks that snake through the terrain's rolling fairways. Accuracy and concentration are a must, as water is in play on nine of the 18 holes. Tackle the obstacles of the 17th hole, a 144-yard par 3 that requires an accurate tee shot to carry the water and land softly on the green, which is surrounded in front by three massive bunkers and a caddy who eats golf balls. Warm up before the round with a bucket of dimpled spheroids ($3+, not included in this Groupon) on the driving range, or hone short-game skills on the chipping green and expansive putting green. Hawk's Tail also outfits golfers with an on-site pro shop that carries brand-name equipment and apparel, and the Hawk's Nest service restaurant astutely replenishes hungry athletes after an eventful day on the links.

About Hawk’s Tail of Greenfield
Though the course at Hawk’s Tail of Greenfield has been a golfing oasis since 1927, it looks a little different than it did in the roaring '20s. For one, the name on the marquee is different: it was called Greenfield Country Club for many years. Cart paths—which wouldn't have been around in the very early years—were repaved in 2001, and a fleet of electric golf carts was brought in to replace the aging herd of bag donkeys. And as a finishing touch, owner and head professional Mr. Farrer added a fireplace on the outdoor patio, providing a welcoming space for golfers to gather round after a fun-filled round.
