If you can't stand animal smell or waste, this deal is not for you. You'll have to sign a waiver before starting do be ready for that. Staff don't have masks on. They involve you in horse prepping and saddling. Teacher is good but the delivery of instructions could be better. The teacher will give you a lot of personal time and slowly buildup your skills. All in all, I think the place a decent.

She is real! A true farmer and a great teacher. She does everything above and beyond. I highly recommend going here with your child. It's an amazing real experience for them and it turns out my Kiddo has a knack for it. Will be continuing classes.

My favorite part was when she had me brush the horse before riding him! After a stressful week at work I felt all my stress melt away! Thank you so much for that opportunity! Sooner was soooo sweet!

The instructor was enthusiastic and patient. She gave a great lesson and even when she ran a bit late, she took the time to give the full hour which included plenty of riding time and instructions on how to care for a horse. The horses were sweet and well behaved. 10/10 would recommend!

My 4 year old daughter just had her first lesson on a friendly beginner horse. The owner was so patient and caring when she was teaching my daughter. I felt nervous to begin with knowing very little about what to expect but was assured in what she offered. We will definitely be coming back for more lessons!

Carol was very knowledgeable and very patient with my 8 year old granddaughter. My granddaughter was a little reluctant at first but Carol encouraged her and was right along side her until she felt comfortable. She learned there is more to riding a horse than just getting into the saddle. She was taught how to groom her before riding and explained why each step was done. When the lesson was over and the horse had cooled down, she was able to fed her horse carrots as a treat! I would definitely recommend this :]

About Hawkswood Farm

For more than three decades, Hawkswood Farm has designed its leafy 45-acre parcel of land to be not just a place to ride horses, but also a calming escape from the bustle of daily life. There, riding enthusiasts of all skill levels can pair up with a friendly horse from the herd of more than 30, and enjoy their lessons in a private, semi-private, or group setting far away from hassles such as traffic on interstate highways or interstate horse trails. Lessons can cover both English and Western styles and take place on the farm's indoor ring, outdoor lighted rings, or, for more seasoned riders, the cross-country jump course.
