For students living in low-income areas, obtaining necessary school supplies such as book bags, paper, and writing utensils can be difficult, creating an immediate logistical hurdle to education. The nonprofit HBCU Information Network furnishes high-schoolers with information on Historically Black Colleges and Universities and helps promote literacy in underserved communities by providing educational programs and required school materials to students in need.
In an effort to equip youths with the basic tools they need to obtain an education and complete school assignments, HBCU Information Network organizes book-bag drives to generate the funds to purchase and distribute essential school supplies. The students who benefit from the program are given a book bag packed with notebooks, pens, pencils, binders, and folders, as well as calculators, protractors, and compasses for older students.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help HBCU Information Network provide academic materials for youth in Atlanta schools. If G-Team members can raise $500, HBCU Information Network can fill and distribute 50 book bags for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Each additional $10 raised will fill another book bag for a student in need.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
