On March 8–9, the Healthy Children Conference + Expo will take over the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center to present a family-focused weekend of educational sessions, interactive activities, vendor booths, and entertainment. Guest speakers include Heidi Murkoff, author of What to Expect When You're Expecting, youth violence prevention expert Joseph Wright, and pediatrician and author Dr. Wendy Sue Swanson. Other presenters include Reed Alexander, iCarly actor and author of KewlBites: 100 Nutritious, Delicious, and Family-Friendly Dishes, and Dr. Aliza, Vida y Salud editor-in-chief and Univision health expert. As parents learn at speaker events and interactive cooking demos, kids can attend targeted youth programming or cut loose with Radio Disney's road crew, Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel, Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team, and the South Shore Drill Team.

Featuring 85 sessions in English and Spanish put on by more than 75 presenters and entertainers, including Radio Disney performers, author Heidi Murkoff, and nationally recognized pediatricians such as Dr. Joseph Wright, Healthy Children Conference + Expo entertains every member of the family. More than that, though, the organizers work to educate families about kids' health. The two-day expo, produced by the American Academy of Pediatrics, features a truly diverse array of presentations focused on newborn care, bullying, fitness, and breastfeeding and parenting to allergies. When the panels and educational sessions conclude, visitors can then head to interactive pavilions and ample vendor booths to learn more about keeping kids healthy or to pick up fitness tips from Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel.
