Outside of a triathlon, the best way to test people's endurance is to see how long they can listen to a radio play-by-play of a triathlon. Take on a real challenge with today's Groupon.
$37 for Entry to the Heartland Heat Triathlon 2012 ($75 Value)
The June 10 triathlon begins with a 500-meter swim in the eight-lane competitive pool at The Springs Aquatic Center before triathletes transition to their cycles for a hilly 13.4-mile bike to Tiffany Springs Park, followed by the concluding 5K run. The triathlon is a non-profit venture between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Platte County Missouri Parks and Recreation, and the YMCA of Greater Kansas City.
Springs Aquatic Center
Maps may tell you that nearest ocean is nearly 700 miles away, but visitors to Springs Aquatic Center—owned by City of Kansas Parks and Recreation—don't seem to mind. Here, they float down a lazy river, race down a winding waterside, and dip into the zero-depth entry pool. Few beaches pack as many exciting elements into their spaces. The park boasts both relaxing and thrilling rides, while giving kids a chance to get wet above sea level with tipping buckets, mist sprayers, and pop jets.
