Poetry would be comprised entirely of haikus and sonnets dedicated to cakes and pastries if poets didn't devour their idyllic subjects before having a chance to write. Today's Groupon says what meter and rhythm cannot: for $7, you get $15 worth of creative cakes, cookies, and more at Heaven Sent Desserts.
The sweet slingers at Heaven Sent Desserts hand craft classic and one-of-a-kind treats from fresh, high-quality, and seasonal ingredients. Inside their quaint quarters, the friendly staff lavishes sugar hedonists with tiramisu, crème brûlée, and cooked-to-order New Orleans bread pudding ($5–$7). Tongues unemployed due to self-sealing envelopes can pass the time licking warm cookies ($1.50–$2 each), cupcakes ($3.50 each), individual slices of cake ($6.50–$7), or pastries made with seasonal fruits, special crèmes, and sauces. Or, enlist a liquid sidekick to complement solid treats, such as the house-blended coffee, teas, and italian sodas ($1.50–$6). Heaven Sent has catered and created three-dimensional, highly edible works of art for Beyoncé and Shaun Phillips, and party patrons can materialize their own dessert dreams by custom designing a specialty cake.
Aspiring to make each day a celebration, owner Lachlan Oliver launched Heaven Sent to honor his friend Mike, a fellow Air Force medic and fallen soldier. Heaven Sent's compassionate confectioneering also supports the Wounded Warrior Project, the Balboa Naval Hospital, and youth and education projects.

- Red Velvets are usually just a hint of chocolate, not too dense, and this one fit the bill. It wasn’t overly chocolately [sic], was almost kind of light and airy. The cream cheese frosting was a nice complement as well – not too sweet or overpowering. Good flavor, moist, and delicious. – The Plain Jane
- Heaven Sent Desserts offers decadent sweets and divine drinks all wrapped up in an ambiance which is a feast for your eyes just as much as your palate. Bon appetite! – Alyssa Veronika M., Yelp
