What You'll Get
Unlike its athletic cousin, the culinary hat trick consists of delectable cuisine, thirst-mutilating beverages, and exactly zero hockey pucks in the teeth. Complete the mouth-pleasing trifecta with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $35 worth of pub grub and drinks at Henry's Hat in the Hollywood Hills. This Groupon is valid for dine-in, takeout, or delivery, but cannot be used toward the $3 delivery fee.
Henry's head-pleasing menu has comfort-food classics such as carnival dogs ($9.95), four types of burgers ($12.50–$13), chili con queso ($10), five types of pizza ($11.95–$13.50), and hybridized chicken-chili pizza-salmon burgers. When possible the menu incorporates organic, sustainably produced ingredients. Chomp into a specialty burger like the Mission and 24th (bacon, pepper-jack, jalapeños, grilled onions, and avocado, $13) or the black and blue (balsamic onions and sautéed crimini mushrooms with blue cheese and arugula, $13). Or, try the pulled-pork sandwich ($12.50). Split some circular eats among tablemates, such as the Frisbee you found outside, or pizza selections such as the classic margherita with fresh tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and parmesan ($12). Or enjoy vegetarian funghi with a mushroom pizza featuring pecorino, thyme, and arugula ($11.95). Vegetable cannibals can also tear into the protein patty of the veggie burger, cooked in any of Henry's specialty styles.
Henry's Hat's friendly, attentive servers serve the brews and bites in a comfortable dining room with wood tables and exposed brick. The bar has plenty of fresh-fruit cocktails and drinks, such as the famous Luna Park Mojito ($10). There are 15 TVs and a projector screen for sublime views of any sort of sport, plus there are free games to play, including Jenga, checkers, chess, Connect Four, Wii, and backgammon, so bring some friends and try not to get caught cheating, lest you never win.
- The pizza is a must, due to its perfect crust. The pulled pork sandwich with horseradish cole slaw is a good alternative if you want a change from the burgers, which are all made with Meyer Ranch prime, natural beef.. – Gayot
- The homey bar-resto features a few different sections with homey names like the Den and the Parlor, where you can enjoy both the upscale, chili-spiced bar food dished out by Texas native (and Longhorn) Nick Cobarruvias, as well as the slew of classic board games (Connect Four, anyone?) supplied by the establishment.– Eric Rosen, LA.com
