Really nice folks and a pleasant evening even though it was a bit muddy. A lot of effort went in to making the event enjoyable plus we got the extra treat of great prices on fresh-from-the-farm produce! We definitely will be back again and plan to go to one of their big cook-out dinners.

About Hentze Family Farm

In 1902, Johan and Arine Hentze immigrated to the United States with little more than a dream. They endured the journey and set roots in Oregon, where they purchased a 42-acre parcel on which they cultivated livestock and produce. Fast forward 110 years—and five generations—and the Hentzes’ descendants still operate the farm, raising fruits, nuts, and vegetables much in the same way their predecessors did a century ago. They’ve kept old-fashioned processing equipment onsite, allowing them to shell peas, crack nuts, and husk corn in the traditional way rather than letting a chicken do the tasks with its mind. Livestock such as lambs, cows, and turkeys still occupy the farm, and the Hentzes open it periodically for special occasions such as fall-harvest celebrations and Halloween-themed soirees.

This was one of those times when we purchased a Groupon and discovered a business that we love and would otherwise not have known about. It was great to go to the pumpkin patch at a friendly, family owned business that was a bit off the beaten path, more genuine and less crowded. Highly recommended.
