About Heritage Trail Association
Based in the historic Van Horne House, the Heritage Trail Association seeks to explore Somerset County's history from the Revolutionary War through the post–World War II years. Tours such as Somerset Hill Landed Gentry and Famous Lovers & Murders follow the illustrious footsteps of notable people, while a Visions and Inventions tour recognizes the scientific milestones of the community. For those interested in staying put, lectures and reenactments take place right in the period-appropriate headquarters. Interactive events round out the busy schedule, including 18th century breakfasts and meet 'n' greets with figures such as George Washington.
