About Heroes Journey
Heroes Journey takes the same name as Joseph Campbell's concept of the monomyth, and that's no coincidence. Says Campbell, "A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder. Fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won. The hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man." The only things missing are the burpees.
Here, people unleash the heroes within them by embracing the CrossFit exercise regime, which is built around basic concepts that add up to not just a healthy body, but a healthy mind. High intensity workouts are short and effective, and a different workout every day means people never over-specialize. Functionality is also a key part of the CrossFit philosophy and instructors ensure people use their energy in the safest, most efficient way. Finally, CrossFit is community-based, meaning participants develop a team mentality.
