Nice show with a interesting mix of exhibitors. I was a bit underwhelmed by the size of the event; I had expected/hoped there would be a larger selection of exhibitors, but those that were there were quite good. I am in the process of renovating and redecorating our great room (kitchen/dining/living room) and ended up visiting the showrooms of quite a few of the exhibitors.

Hosted at Dulles Expo Center September 23–25, the Capital Home Show showcases sundry home exhibitions and home-improvement seminars. Yigit Pura—of Bravo's Top Chef: Just Desserts fame—divulges culinary secrets on Saturday and Sunday, Sasha Andreev—of HGTV's _Curb Appeal_—inspires DIYers with home-remodeling tips on Saturday, and other seminars cover topics from gardening to building home time machines. Enthusiastic exhibitors display home products such as windows, doors, roofing, and siding, and visitors marvel at show highlights such as The Sand Sculpture Company's massive sand palaces and recreations of suburban office buildings. Visitors can seek notoriety in the Ugly Kitchen Contest, in which contestants' dilapidated cooking spaces vie for a full makeover and stovetop manicure.

Adult tickets cost $7 each online and $10 each at the box office; children ages 6–12 enter for $3 each.
