Hidden Deli and Catering's staff layers Boar's Head meats and cheeses on a menu of sandwiches named after popular movies and TV shows. Each carnivore-titillating sandwich is filled with 5–6 ounces of meat, such as the genoa and dry salami, pepperoni, and mortadella on the 8-inch New York/New York italian sub, an amalgamation as protein-rich as a millionaire who made his money in hot-dog mining. In the Jaws sandwich, albacore tuna floats atop swiss cheese and horseradish sauce, and the Veggie Tales bathes spinach, cucumber, and cheddar in pesto sauce. The Police Academy brandishes smoked applewood bacon, lettuce, and tomato as it patrols ovens for optional toasted flavor and jaywalking potholders.
Alternatively, groups of up to 20 people or four elephants can appease collective hunger with a well-appointed catering package. Chefs can pre-make sandwiches or assemble a build-your-own spread that allows diners to self-stack turkey, italian roast beef, and honey-maple ham atop an assortment of bread. A smattering of toppings lends additional color to handheld fare, and a choice of two salads makes for a meal more vegetable-friendly than a carrot's guidance counselor. Customers can nosh on homemade sweet-potato chips and cookies in the comfort of their own living rooms or on the outdoor patio attached to the store, where chefs also work to support and concoct organic lunches for local schools.
