What You'll Get
Horses are some of the most perceptive animals, as evidenced by the saying, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t explain his intimate knowledge of your childhood fears.” Tap into equine insight with today’s Groupon: for $119, you get a horseback-riding experience for two at Hiddenbrook Peruvians in Cambridge (a $250 value). Each horseback-riding experience includes the following:
- A half hour of basic riding training
- A half-hour guided private trail ride on two peruvian paso specialty horses
- A bonfire with hot dogs and beverages for two<p>
Drawing on 15 years of experience, Hiddenbrook Peruvians’ seasoned horsemen accompany pairs through the scenic central Minnesotan woods on the backs of gentle, smooth-gaited peruvian paso horses. Customers journey to the stable to meet the staff and horses, all of whom eschew constrictive satin ascots in favor of traditional Peruvian riding attire. In the warmth of an indoor facility, knowledgeable instructors lead riders through basic riding tactics and safety tips. After 30 minutes of instruction and horse-and-rider mingling, couples set out on their equestrian escapades alongside an instructor through snow-kissed wooded trails. At the end of their ride, parties warm their gullets with beverages while roasting hot dogs over an open bonfire and reading aloud passages from Seabiscuit in fluent Horse. When home, visitors will receive an emailed photograph memento of their experience with their equine pals.
