Our guide, Justin, was fantastic! I felt like I was in excellent hands with someone that was extremely knowledgeable about rafting, safety, and the land of the area. He had great communication which was perfect for the rafters that were new to the whole thing. Also, loved the photos. Thank you! We will be back next year!

The experience itself is amazing. Robert, our guide was AWESOME! The guy from last time we went talked way too much. Was boring. We have been going to HDRO for years! I believe this was the 5th or 6th year we go with them. I got an email offering a free seat if you bring 7 people, get the 8th free. I got 15 people together and reserved two boats but they didn’t honor the offer. In the email there’s no specifics regarding their policy or fine print, nada. It was very disappointing but we still went since we already had reserved the camping site and was all paid for. We will try a different rafting company next time we’re there.

Great trip and the guides are quality humans! Life jackets a little skunky by the end of the week though, twice a week dip would be kill

About High Desert River Outfitters

In the shadow of the Deschutes River’s towering buttes and sheer rock faces, High Desert River Outfitters’ rafts soar over swirling rapids. The outfitter’s river guides have been navigating this river since 1990 and have mastered its most challenging rapids and eddies. In addition to firsthand experience, all guides boasts extensive training in swift-water safety and rescue, as well as certifications in first aid and CPR. They welcome adventurers of all ages, carefully tailoring trips to suit skill levels.

Groups can embark on leisurely half-day sojourns that provide a quick riverside glimpse of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, on any trips that last a day or longer, guides prepare barbecue lunches for all their guests to provide them with the energy necessary to control the rafts and physically remove any stowaway mountain goats.
