New Shoes 5, an ongoing series of new dance and physical theater works by Southern California-based artists, is back for its fifth installment at Highways Performance Space and Gallery in Santa Monica. Named as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 To Watch” and an instructor of master tango classes around the world, Sharna Fabiano adds a touch of Argentine tango to New Shoes 5. Anya Cloud and Eric Geiger both teach at the university level and often collaborate on choreography and performance, as they do on The Lazy Sexy Peepshow. A current Brithinee Fellow at the Culver Center of the Arts, Julie Satow Freeman is the creative mind behind For Two, performed by Alfonzo Cervera and Irvin Gonzalez. And L.A. movers Tiffany Stacey and Cristina Novach premiere Where the long shadow falls, their first collaboration with innovative projection artist Kaiman Walker.
