Described as "spontaneous theater of the absurd" and "like nothing you've seen before" by LA Weekly, Wet the Hippo Collective combines dance, clowning and improvisation to get you thinking. Founded by John Gilkey -- a former Cirque du Soleil performer who has also consulted on Pixar films like Ratatouille -- directs, co-writes and performs alongside the troupe in their latest show, The Invention of Language. Improvised moments invade the text, choreography and slapstick, bringing a live-wire energy to the performance to capture the underlying element of nonsense in thought and communication. Founded in 2012, Wet the Hippo has toured California and Las Vegas and received rave reviews and a nomination for Best Comedy at the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
