Great tasting sushi!
  • Authentic & creative Japanese fare
  • 75 kinds of sashimi & maki

The california roll is an American take on a Japanese classic, much like the movie Godzilla vs. George Washington. Celebrate cultural collisions with today's Groupon: for $25, you get $50 worth of sushi and Japanese cuisine at Hikaru Sushi in Arlington.

Hikaru Sushi's chefs roll out a menu of authentic Japanese fare and 75 sushi selections. The Pink Panther roll tucks fresh crab meat, shrimp, and avocado inside a cozy sleeping bag of rice and salmon ($11.50), and the mango and apple of the Fruity maki ($8.95) tremble with excitement like high schoolers at a college party at being ushered into the elite sushi pantheon. Assemble a custom mosaic of seafood by selecting from raw and cooked sashimi pieces, such as eel ($5) and tuna ($5), or show off noodle-tying skills with a steamy bowl of shrimp yaki soba ($11).

About Hikaru Sushi - CLOSED

At Hikaru Sushi, seasoned chefs mold the sea's freshest specimens into more than 70 types of maki and nigiri. In addition to constructing classic California rolls from crab sticks and cucumbers, they whisk taste buds to the frontier of the sushi realm with colorful fruit maki and a deep-fried Virginia roll stuffed with asparagus, cream cheese, and yellowtail. The eponymous Hikaru bento box pairs a choice of five sushi rolls with hot teriyaki and an Asian amuse-bouche such as gyoza or shumai, and the Hikaru maki teams crispy shrimp tempura with a mayo that has more kick than a Rockette who took tae kwon do lessons as a child. To end the meal on a sweet note, guests can nibble desserts such as mango sherbet and tempura ice cream on the restaurant's outdoor patio.
