There are many activities that should not be performed on an empty stomach, including swimming, surgery, and swimming 30 minutes after having your appendix removed. Acquire activity fuel with today’s Groupon at Hilltop Tavern. Choose between two options:

*$5 for $10 worth of casual lunch fare (11 a.m.- 3 p.m. Monday–Friday) *$9 for $18 worth of casual dinner fare (3 p.m.- 1 a.m. Monday–Saturday)

The team of appetite quellers at Hilltop Tavern, founded in 1933, whips up a sandwich-centric menu of classic American fare until 1 a.m. Monday¬–Saturday. A midday menu boasts enough soups ($1+), entree salads ($6.95+), and specialty sandwiches, including the grilled cheese ($4.75) and breaded chicken breast ($7.25), to recharge fatigued office-dwellers and 9-to-5 astronauts exhausted from pushing papers in zero gravity. For dinner, start off with a fresh-fried starter of cheesy breaded cauliflower ($4.25) or onion petals ($4.25) before taking on a hefty basket of chicken gizzards ($4.25) or a cod-fish sandwich with fries ($7.25). The 8-ounce super-cheeseburger and fries ($7.75) sharpens dull incisors, and the freshly baked cookies ($.45) keep sweet teeth from mounting bitter rants about the underrepresentation of sugar in the new USDA MyPlate.

Along with a lively and casual dining area, the boisterous eatery boasts a full bar. Every Tuesday, Hilltop plays host to live concerts, where local musicians kick out the jams to a crowd of music fans and toast connoisseurs.

Customer Reviews

Great food

Not easy to find because there is no sign out front that says its name. But it definitely has some amazing appetizers, and their Reuben is amazing!
