The second you step into Himalayan Cafe, the scents of cardamon, saffron, and clove wash over you. Once your appetite catches up to your nose, the menu's listings reveals plenty of perennial Indian favorites and some Tibetan classics that are hard to pass up. Those include mo-mo, a traditional Nepalese and Tibetan starter dumpling stuffed with meat or veggies. As you may your way fiurther through the menu, tandoor oven-crisped dishes beg a look, like the chicken tikka masala and the lamb sekuwa, served with mint sauce and a squeeze of lemon. The restaurant's many vegetarian dishes are made with just as much care for flavor, like the aaloo kauli with potatoes and cauliflower sauteed in spices.
