Historic Milwaukee Inc
Since its founding in 1974, the nonprofit organization Historic Milwaukee, Inc., has dedicated itself to increasing awareness of, and commitment to, Milwaukee’s history, architecture, and the preservation of built environment through innovative, responsive programs and strong community, corporate, and civic alliances. The organization lifts the veil on Milwaukee's buildings and the people of its past through neighborhood walking tours. Throughout the year, special tours take visitors on deeper explorations of more focused historical topics. To further engage history buffs, Historic Milwaukee also helms events such as Spaces & Traces, an in-depth neighborhood tour held annually, as well as Doors Open Milwaukee, a citywide open house featuring more than 150 buildings.
