Historic Virginia Key Beach Park

As Miami's first officially designated swimming area for African Americans, Historic Virginia Key Beach Park has a rich history. More than 70 years later, visitors can walk along the mile-long shoreline or take in the sparkling blue water while riding an antique carousel. Aside from "some of the best ocean and bay views anywhere," according to the Miami New Times, guests are invited to stroll along the nature boardwalk and coastal hammock trails or explore the mini wetlands aboard a mini locomotive.
