Send this year’s stresses a friendly goodbye through the power of cleansing facials. For $35, today's Groupon lets you choose either a back facial or European facial at Hoda Spa. Certified in skin biology, reflexology (the care of your feet), and a host of other bodily therapies, Hoda Spa’s highly regarded aestheticians create a peaceful environment of healing and deep relaxation where your fear of sword-wielding barbarian children can melt away.
Because all people have their own unique skin connected to their own unique selves, Hoda Spa begins the hour-long European facial with a skin analysis consultation in order to best approach the individual needs of each client. Then the ride begins as you melt into the joys of exfoliation, the wonders of steam, the thrills of both neck and hand massage, and the utter fanciness of a specially customized pharmaceutical-grade mask.
If your back is firmly demanding attention, choose the back facial. It's a wonderful 60-minute experience that will leave you feeling smooth, hydrated, and unobstructed by not-front tension with a steaming, massage, blemish removal, deep cleansing, and a therapeutic serum and mask. Hoda Spa uses products by Babor, which help deliver the moisture that dry and damaged skin craves.
Not only will one of the spa’s adored facials roll back the skin-years and sooth away body-stresses, but the pampering treatment will improve your mood as well. High spirits are a must with the holiday season approaching, and with today's Groupon, you can even give the gift of high spirits to a loved one so they can float above the dreary world of tired skin with you. Give it to friends, family, or co-workers in need of an hour-long vacation that doesn't involve traveling with the NBDL's Erie Bayhawks.
Note: Appointments must be scheduled in advance and gratuity is not included.

The Origins of Relaxation
Relaxation is a relatively new term, first used in the 1920s to mean “a squandered misuse of waking hours, in which perilous labor could be undertoiled for purposes of creating profit for machine owners,” according to Baron and Industrialist Quarterly. Before the word’s introduction, there was simply no use for a word to describe a condition of non-working, as the 21-hour-workday made laxating for any period of time impossible.
Over time, relaxation lost its negative connotations, thanks in large part to muckraking journalists who revealed that many wealthy businessmen lived above ground in mansions, not in hollowed-out, overnight-work mines. Today, many Americans spend their non-working time laxing over and over again, sometimes in spas.
