People often do things at resorts that they would never do in their own homes, such as sleep soundly, watch Marley & Me, or let the kids drink as much shampoo as they want. Let loose with today’s Groupon: for $140, you get a ski-resort package (up to a $280 total value, including tax) at Holiday Mountain Resort in La Rivière. The package includes:

  • A one-night stay for two (up to a $78.40 value)
  • Ski passes valid for two days and one night for both people (a $201.60 value). Customers receive the following ski-lift passes in the package:
  • Two day passes valid Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Two night passes valid Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Two day passes valid Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<p>

Holiday Mountain welcomes travellers to the prairie at a resort that converts into a skiing destination each winter. Customers stay at the resort’s Mountain Inn accommodations (a $78.40 value), which boast a choice of one double or two single beds, newly renovated bathrooms, and energy-efficient insulation perfect for keeping snug or for storing a few hundred gallons of soup. For $20 more, skiers may upgrade to A-frame style cabins to enjoy two double beds and a bit of extra space. Lodgings come equipped with creature comforts such as Shaw Direct satellite TV and reside within walking distance of all resort recreational facilities.

With the boon of four daytime ski-lift passes and two night passes, ski bunnies and snowboard voles catch major air any time on the mountain’s 11 trails, which are suited for all skill levels. Both snow-whomping styles are welcome in the Freestyle Terrain Park, a powdered garden of variegated topography plump with features such as grindable rails and hand-plantable brinks. The resort maintains two double chairlifts—the blue chair, which accesses advanced and intermediate runs, and the green, which ferries riders to the beginner routes and to the pot of gold at the top of the mountain. Holiday Mountain also boasts an easy-access Wonder Carpet conveyor lift for beginner-focused ascents along the ground.

Holiday Mountain Resort

Skiers zip down a mountain slope to land at the doorstep of their A-frame cabin. Golfers take a final putt, look out across the Pembina Valley, and retire for a meal at the Day Lodge Chalet. Holiday Mountain Resort doesn't just give vacationers a soft bed to rest in but also gives access to a village of accommodations and on-site activities.

Holiday Mountain's advanced skiing track and beginner hills are in walking range of an inn and 10 chalet-style cabins. The resort also encompasses a nine-hole golf course and a cocktail lounge with a pool table and fireplace for more relaxed entertainment. A rental shop comes to the rescue of visitors who accidentally packed their jet-ski instead of a snowboard.
