What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our school has been in business for almost 30 years. We are a martial arts family. We train in a friendly environment where everyone is welcome. We cater to all ages and abilities. The age range in our adult classes is teens to students in their 60s and 70s.
What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
The martial arts are all about being confident and feeling good about yourself. We listen to what you want and try to tailor classes to our students' needs.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
When I started my business, I set a goal to empower people. I wanted to share my love of the martial arts with others. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and I get to teach something that I love.
What do you love most about your job?
I love helping others attain a goal. It may be weight loss, or it may be [improved] confidence. It's amazing to see a student accomplish a goal no matter how large or small. The greatest feeling is seeing a student achieve their black belt.
