Art helps people to reach a wide audience without shouting from the top of radio towers, provocatively dancing behind a local TV field reporter, or tying speech bubbles to migrating birds. Express yourself with this Groupon.

- $99 for a three-hour fused-dichroic-glass jewelry-making class for one (a $280 value)
- $179 for a three-hour fused-dichroic-glass jewelry-making class for two (a $560 value)
Class schedule begins May 1.

Glass artisan Tom Stanton begins each class with a brief lecture on glass composition in general and the history of dichroic glass in particular. The uniquely sparkly medium appears to be a different color depending on the light and has been used by everyone from the ancient Romans to NASA. Under careful guidance, students wield handheld and mechanical tools to cut and fuse glass into several different pieces—such as a pendant, earrings, and a brooch—and make them wearable with findings and bezels. One piece will be quick-fired and ready that day, and the others will be ready for pickup later in the week, making it perfect for a Mother’s Day gift.
