What You'll Get
Beer tastes better when it's been carefully brewed at home, much as cars drive better using gasoline you squeezed out of fossils yourself. Hand-craft liquids you can trust with today’s Groupon from Hop City Craft Beer and Wine. Choose between the following options:
- For $10, you get a three-hour beer-making class for two (a $20 value).
- For $18, you get a three-hour beer-making class for four (a $40 value).
Hop City brew gurus tutor up to 70 students in the subtle art and science of home brewing. After listening to hopsmasters outline each step in the process—from initial steeping to the sterilization necessary before fluids can be placed in kegs or secreted inside bottles of contact-lens solution—brewers carefully guide their custom concoctions through the malt-extract process. Patrons learn the ratios of hops, grains, yeasts, and malts needed to create libations suited to their own tastes, all while participating in hands-on demonstrations and being edified by beer-trivia digressions. Classes are offered on select Saturdays each month.
