Hot Dog Caboose
in 2006, Brian and Carol Laube helped convert a 100-year-old caboose in their town's historic train station into a small kitchen, creating a one-of-a-kind hot-dog stand. Today, the erstwhile train car serves up Sabrett hot dogs and sausages. Customers can make their own custom dog, or order a specialty creation such as the Taco Dog topped with corn chips, chili, cheese, and jalapenos. There are plenty of other treats as well, from chicken tacos to ice-cream sandwiches, along with to-go containers of their homemade chili and slow-cooked baked beans. Though seating is restricted to outdoor picnic tables, there is a pick-up window that keeps Hot Dog Caboose open year-round.
