The venerable Houston Children's Chorus has sung for US Presidents on 28 occasions, at the 1990 World Economic Summit and at a UNICEF Gala for Audrey Hepburn. They've also performed during Mass at the Vatican and shared a stage with Celine Dion, while its alumni have appeared on the Super Bowl pre-game show with Josh Groban and on American Idol. Now the chorus, featuring a culturally and socially diverse group of gifted children in grades two through eight, celebrates its 27th season with its annual Spring Concert at Grace Presbyterian Church. Featuring both sacred and secular works, the show will include the premiere of "Ripple of Kindness" by Donna Butler Douglas, "Jubilate Deo" by William Krape -- recently heard on NPR -- "Benedicte" by Andrew Carter and more.
Running time is 60 minutes.
