Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

How old do you need to be?

Jamie H.  asked on  Dec 21, 2012

A:

You don’t have to be a particular age before you can begin to take flying lessons. However, you do have to be at least 16 years old before you can solo an airplane, and 17 before you can be issued a pilot certificate. Many young people start flying in their teenage years! As for being “too old”, most student pilots are people who are chasing a lifelong dream of taking to the skies. It isn’t unheard of for folks who are 50, 60, or 70 years old to be taking flying lessons.

On the Groupon deal page, it shows 3 locations including a location in Pearland but when you click on the hyperlink for Houston Flight Training that is shown on the Groupon page, it does not show the Pearland location.
