Small class room near la Griglia and Brasserie 19 its a cool place the teacher was a bit prude but perhaps my jokes about my bird looking like a duck weren’t that funny. The fun part is bring your bottle and drink while you paint. The painting was nice it was a nice watercolor, I also was able to take some liberties and added flowers and other things the teacher didn’t like that but oh well

Choose Between Two Options

  • $36 for a BYOB painting class for two people ($70 value)
  • $31 for four drawing-technique classes for one person ($60 value)

During BYOB painting classes, students re-create a featured watercolor painting, which may depict wizened owls or serene landscapes, with step-by-step guidance from an instructor. Classes typically run Friday–Sunday. View the schedule and available paintings.

Each weekly drawing-technique class will cover one topic (including but not limited to portraits, anime, animals, still life, flowers, and figures) and will include full instruction with a reference image in that class’s topic. Each session also includes all necessary supplies and materials. Groupon holders will have two months from the first session to redeem all four classes before they expire.

About Houston Art Lessons

Amy Lin and Lulu Fang, both visual arts graduates from Rice University, lead group classes, private lessons, and private parties at Houston Art Lessons. During their weekend art classes, students of all skill levels enjoy drinks and snacks as they learn to draw or paint and improve their technique. One-on-one lessons are also available in a wide scope of disciplines, including technique lessons, sketching, acrylic, digital art, and manga illustration.
