- $29.99 for one four-week Pick Your Weapon course (a $100 value)
- $59.99 for one four-week Pick Your Weapon course and four 60-minute group classes (a $208 value)
Each group fencing lesson begins with warm-ups, footwork routines, and fencing games, followed by drilling practice. Each class ends with supervised bouting practice with an opponent. The Pick Your Weapon course meets for one hour per week and introduces beginners to the sport of fencing. Students will review the basic posture and footwork during lesson one, and then spend each of three subsequent lessons with one of the three weapons: foil, epee, and sabre. All necessary equipment is included with all three options.
Hub City Fencing Academy
Since 2010, the scene at Hub City Fencing Academy has been the same. An instructor gives the signal and students leap into action, foils and sabers flashing as they lunge and parry. Head Coach Rich Beischer and his team of decorated coaches – most competed at the D-I collegiate level – lead lessons and training camps for all levels of fencer, including kids, active competitors, and those who just want to press elevator buttons with more panache. The instructors make it their goal to not only teach the physical techniques of fencing, but also the discipline and maturity that come from committing to a sport. Parents can get their children started in the healthy, mind-sharpening sport at a young age through the private Mommy (or Daddy) & Me lessons, which teach duelists up to age 7 basic skills alongside a participating parent.
